DESCRIPTION:\nRSVPs for this event are closed.  Please call Angela at 310-529-4973 to see if there are any cancellations.\n \nAssistant United States Attorneys Lisa Feldman and Monica Tait will be speaking about the latest sophisticated, transnational scams targeting older adults, including imposter scams (such as the grandparent and tech support scams) and cryptocurrency investment scams (often referred to as “pig butchering”).  Lisa and Monica will also discuss the common “red flags” to recognize scams and the social engineering techniques frequently used by fraudsters online and over the phone.  The presentation will also include information on resources, such as the National Elder Fraud Hotline, and how victims can report a cyber crime. \n \nAbout our Speakers\n \nLisa Feldman is an Assistant United States Attorney in the Cyber and Intellectual Property Crimes Section of the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles, and has been an AUSA for over 25 years.  As a federal prosecutor, Lisa handles cases involving cyber crimes, such as computer hacking, cyber-enabled fraud, and cyber exploitation, as well as cases involving intellectual property crimes, such as the manufacture and sale of counterfeit goods.  \n \nLisa serves as the Community Outreach Coordinator for her section and regularly speaks to the public about cyber safety and sophisticated cyber scams targeting older adults.  Before joining her section, Lisa served as a supervisor who trained to new prosecutors in her office.  \n Prior to being an AUSA, Lisa was an attorney in a civil litigation law firm in Los Angeles.\n \n\n Monica E.
