This ancient tradition is slowly rising in popularity, and for good reason. In this class we will discuss what an ethical will is and isn’t. We will study one of the earliest ethical wills, and snippets from ethical wills throughout different time periods. We will discuss the kinds of ethical wills, innovative ways in which to both create them and pass them on. Finally, you will leave with tools for how to create your own, and resources to help guide others through the process.\n \nAbout our Speaker\n   \nRabbi Cassi Kail is the Director of Jewish Life at Chapman University and a community rabbi serving unaffiliated Jews throughout the South Bay. She previously served as a congregational rabbi in both New York and California. Rabbi Kail is a board member of Harbor Connects, a non-profit organization supporting neighbors and service providers in the fight against poverty, and the Pacific Association of Reform Rabbis (PARR). She also serves on the Central Conference of American Rabbis convention committee. Passionate about interfaith work, she has flown to Qatar with and is a leader of the Los Angeles branch of the Multi-Faith Neighbors Network and the San Pedro Faith Consortium. Rabbi Kail received her M.A. in Hebrew Literature and her rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College- Jewish Institute of Religion. She loves teaching, hiking, playing guitar, and avidly reading.
